MOSRITE
ACOUSTIC: BALLADERE & SERENADE MODELS
The D-8 Memphis five-string banjo was built between 1966 and 1969, and featured a maple top/back/sides, single body binding, 26 in.scale, East Indian rosewood fingerboard, Type C resonator and cover plate, 12 round mini-soundholes arranged around the resonator, bridge/metal tailpiece. The D-8 Memphis was available in a Blonde finish, and had a new retail list price of $229.00 (in 1966).
BALLADERE I (MODEL 401)
- dreadnought style, 3.25 in. body depth, bound spruce top, round soundhole, mahogany back/sides, 24.5 in. scale, 14/20-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge with white bridgepins, three-per-side chrome enclosed tuners, available Natural or Transparent Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1966-69.
Balladere II (Model 402)
- similar to the Balladere I, except features rosewood back/sides, two-color laminated line purfling (top and back), bound fingerboard, available Natural or Transparent Sunburst finishes, body thickness 5 in., mfg. 1968-69.
SERENADE
- dreadnought style, spruce top, round soundhole, mahogany back/sides, mahogany neck, celluloid double binding on body, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, rosewood bridge with white bridgepins, black celluloid batwing pickguard, three-per-side Kluson tuners, available in Natural Spruce Top/Shaded Burgundy high gloss finish, mfg. 1965-69.
