 MARTIN | | ACOUSTIC GUITARS: GENERAL INFORMATION & PRICING OPTIONS | Because of the large amount of guitar series and the sheer volume of guitars that Martin has produced over the years, this section has been split up into several categories designed to make location and accessibility easier. Martin first broke their guitar line into separate "Series" in 1996. All regular production models were transferred into the newly designated "Standard" Series. No specifications or features were changed, so all standard production models built before 1996 are included in the Standard Series as well. The Standard Series is then broken down into several sub-categories that divides these guitars into their various sizes such as the Dreadnought, 0 Concert, 00 Grand Concert, 000 Grand Auditorium, 0000/M Grand Auditorium, Jumbo, and OM Orchestra Model Series. All other guitars are divided into their respective series, which Martin has made very clear and precise since 1996.
Martin offers several guitars with electronics as standard equipment (models are designated with E); however, electronics can be added to just about any model that Martin produces. Several electronic/pickup combinations are available as factory equipment and the following add-ons only apply to guitars without standard factory electronics. For example, you would not add any additional value to the Model DC-15E since the pickup is already included in the price. | |
