KALIL
Instruments currently built in McComb, MS.
Luthier Edward E. Kalil builds instruments to custom order. Kalil currently offers acoustic steel and nylon models, as well as solid body electrics. Costs will vary due to complexity of the design and appointments.
Kalil began building guitars after attending a class at Guitar Research and Design (GRD) run by Charles Fox in South Strafford, VT. Kalil's class instructor was George Morris. Kalil has been a member of the Guild of American Luthiers (G.A.L.) since 1981, and a member of A.S.I.A. (Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans) since 1988.
Kalil instruments can be easily identified by the "Kalil" headstock logo. Kalil also offers the Lick En Stik travel guitar, a full-scale instrument with a compact body and built-in amp (with variable distortion).
