 HERITAGE | | Instruments currently built in Kalamazoo, MI since 1984. The company was incorporated on April 1, 1985. The Lasar Music Corporation, located in Brentwood, TN is the exclusive sales and marketing company for Heritage Guitars, Inc. Heritage stopped producing acoustic guitars in 2000. | The Heritage Guitar Company opened in 1985 setting up shop in the original Gibson factory that had moved from Kalamazoo, MI to Nashville, TN a year earlier. While Heritage currently focuses on hollowbody, semi-hollowbody, and solidbody electric guitars, they have also experminented with acoustic instruments. Most Heritage acoustic instruments were produced during the 1990s. Heritage also built mandolins and a banjo model on a "Limited Availability" basis.
The Kalamazoo Standard Banjo (retail list $2,700) has a bound curly maple resonator/neck, maple rim, bound ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays, and chrome hardware, available in Honey Stain finish.
