GRUEN ACOUSTIC GUITARS Instruments currently produced in Sonoma County, CA and previously produced in Chapel Hill, NC since 1999. Luthier Paul Gruen has been playing guitar since the 1960s, and since 1998 has been building a hybrid form of acoustic guitar incorporating elements of flattop, archtop, and Selmer/Mac construction. These guitars have five soundholes, and any combination of one or two of the oval soundholes can be plugged to change the tone. Guitars are available in 16 in., 17 in., and 18 in. variations.
