GOLDENTONE
Instruments previously produced in Japan during the 1960s.
The Goldentone trademark was used by U.S. importer Elger and its partner Hoshino Gakki Ten as one of the brand names used in their joint guitar producing venture. Hoshino in Japan was shipping Fuji Gen Gakki-built guitars marketed in the U.S. as Goldentone, Elger, and eventually Ibanez. These guitars featured original body designs in the early to mid-1960s.
