GIBSON
ACOUSTIC: NOUVEAU BY GIBSON SERIES
The Nouveau by Gibson Series feature bodies and necks that were produced in Japan and then shipped to the U.S. where they were assembled and completed. The Nouveau guitars were introduced into the Gibson line in 1986, but by late 1987, they were moved to the Epiphone line and changed to Nouveau by Epiphone. A line of electric guitars were offered as well.
NV 6
- dreadnought-style body, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, round soundhole with three-ring rosette, multi-ply body binding, mahogany neck, 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard with custom shape inlays, black headstock overlay with pearl "Nouveau" logo across the top and seven-stripe pearl diamond inlay with a vertical "Gibson" logos three-per-side chrome tuners, ebony bridge, tortoise pickguard, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1986-87.
NV 6R
- similar to the NV 6, except has rosewood back and sides, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1986-87.
NV 6R-S
- similar to the NV 6R, except has a solid spruce top, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1987 only.
NV 6T
- similar to the NV 6, except has tortoiseshell celluloid binding, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1987 only.
NV 12
- similar to the NV 6, except in 12-string configuration with six-per-side tuners, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1986-87.
