ACOUSTIC ARCHTOP: RECENT MFG.
Early Synchromatic models have bulb-shaped pegheads. Fingerboard inlay listed as the standard, though models are also found with split block, thumb print and other inlay styles.
SYNCHROMATIC G400 (NO. 260-0100)
- arched spruce top, raised bound tortoiseshell pickguard, bound cat's-eye soundholes, three-stripe bound body, arched maple back, maple sides/neck, 14/20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl split hump block inlay, adjustable stylized ebony bridge/step trapeze tailpiece, bound blackface peghead with pearl model name/logo inlay, three-per-side gold tuners, available in Sunburst or Black finish, mfg. 1991-present.
Synchromatic G400 C (No. 260-0101)
- similar to Synchromatic except has single round cutaway, available in Sunburst finish, mfg. 1991-present.
Blonde Maple Synchromatic G400 MC
- similar to Synchromatic C, except has Blonde Maple finish, available in Natural finish, mfg. 1991-96.
Synchromatic G400 CV (G6040MCSS, No. 260-0107)
- similar to Synchromatic C, except has a Filtertron pickup and a Bigsby tremolo bridge, available in Blonde or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1994-present.
Synchromatic G400JV Jimmie Vaughan (No. 260-0110)
- similar to the Synchromatic G400, except is the Jimmie Vaughan signature version, arched solid spruce top, solid maple back and sides, two cat's-eye soundholes, mulitple top and back binding, three-piece maple neck, 14/20-fret bound ebony fingerboard with slashed hump block inlays, multiple-bound headstock with slanted "Gretsch" and "Synchromatic" logos, three-per-side Grover Imperial tuners, compensated rosewood synchronized bridge, harp tailpiece, tortoiseshell pickguard that covers most of the treble soundhole, Fishman Archtop pickup system, two knobs under the pickguard (v, tone), available in Natural finish, 17 in. body width, 3.5 in. body depth, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. summer 2006-present.
SYNCHROMATIC 17 IN. LIMITED EDITION (MODEL G450)
- similar to the Synchromatic, except features handcarved spruce top, floating Jazz pickup, available in Walnut Stain finish, body width 17 in., mfg. 1997-2002.
Synchromatic 17 In. Maple Limited Edition (Model G450 M)
- similar to the 17 in. Synchromatic Limited Edition, except features a carved maple top, mfg. 1997-2002.
SYNCHROMATIC THINLINE G460
- similar to the Synchromatic, except features a laminated spruce top, available in Orange finish, mfg. 1997-2003.
Maple Synchromatic G460 M
- similar to the Orange Synchromatic, except features a laminated maple top, mfg. 1997-2002.
SYNCHROMATIC G100 (NO. 251-5830)
- non-cutaway Synchromatic-style archtop body, spruce top, laminated maple back and sides, two f-holes, vintage white body binding, maple neck, 20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays, black headstock with Gretsch Synchromatic logo and three-per-side tuners, Gretsch rosewood adj. stairstep bridge, trapeze tailpiece, raised tortoise pickguard, chrome hardware, available in Natural or Sunburst finish, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. summer 2006-present.
ELDORADO 18 IN. CARVED TOP (MODEL G410)
- similar to the Eldorado (Model 6040). Synchromatic Jazz Model, available in Sunburst (G410) or Natural (G410 M) finishes, body width 18 in., mfg. 1991-2001.
