FRAMUS | ACOUSTIC & SERIALIZATION | In order to properly date the year of issue, most Framus guitars had a separate pair of digits after the main serial number. If the separate pair is present, the two numbers will indicate the year. Current Framus instruments, including the electric guitars and handwired tube guitar amps, are produced at the Warwick facility. Acoustic instruments are no longer produced by Framus. Currently, Framus instruments are available in England, Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland; worldwide distribution is in the planning stages. The majority of Framus acoustic guitars were produced in the 1960s. Some of the models that were produced inlclude the Texan, King, Blueridge, Tenor, Hootenany, and the Camping King. Used prices for these instruments range anywhere between $300 and $700, depending on the model. | GAUCHO | - small acoustic body, spruce top, arched mahogany back, mahogany sides, round soundhole, bolt-on mahogany neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, black headstock overlay with Framus logo and design, string guide, three-per-side tuners, bolt-on large adj. rosewood fingerboard, tortoise pickguard, nickel hardware, available in Natural or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1960s. |
