FENDER
ACOUSTIC: 1963-1970 PRODUCTION MODELS
Before Fender introduced their full line of acoustic guitars designed by Roger Rossmeisl in 1963, they also sold a few Fender-branded guitars that were built by Harmony.
CONCERT
- dreadnought style, spruce top, round soundhole, maple back/sides, bound top/back, bolt-on maple neck with neckplate, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, six-per-side chrome tuners, rosewood bridge with white bridgepins, single-ply pickguard, aluminum support rod (through body), available in Natural finish, 15.375 in. body width, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. 1963-1970.
KING
- dreadnought style, spruce top, round soundhole, mahogany back/sides, multiple bound top/back, bolt-on maple neck with neckplate, 21-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, six-per-side chrome tuners, aluminum support rod (through body), available in Natural finish, 25.5 in. scale, 15.625 in. body width, mfg. 1963-66.
KINGMAN (FIRST VERSION)
- similar to the King model, available in Natural or Sunburst finishes, mfg. 1966-1971.
MALIBU (FIRST VERSION)
- dreadnought style, spruce top, round soundhole, mahogany back/sides, mahogany neck, one-ply bound top, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, rosewood bridge, available in Black, Mahogany, or Sunburst finishes, 25.5 in. scale, 14.875 in. body width, mfg. 1965-1971.
NEWPORTER
- dreadnought style, spruce top, round soundhole, mahogany back/sides, mahogany neck, one-ply bound top, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay, rosewood bridge, available in Mahogany finish, 25.5 in. scale, 14.375 in. body width, mfg. 1965-1971.
PALOMINO
dreadnought style, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, round soundhole with two rope pattern and two black rings, top and back binding, maple neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, Strat-style headstock with maple overlay, six-on-one-side tuners with plastic buttons, rosewood bridge, 15.375 in. body width, 25.5 in. scale, available in Black Vermillion, Natural, or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1968-1971.
REDONDO
- similar to the Newporter, except features a spruce top, mfg. 1969-1971.
SHENANDOAH
- similar to the Kingman, except features 12-string configuration, six-per-side tuners, available in Natural, Black, Sunburst, or Antigua finishes, mfg. 1965-1971.
VILLAGER
- similar to the Malibu, except in 12-string configuration and six-per-side tuners, mfg. 1965-69.
WILDWOOD ACOUSTIC
- similar to the Kingman, except features beechwood back/sides, three-ply pickguard, block fingerboard inlay, available in injected-dye colors (primary colors of green, blue, and gold), mfg. 1966-1971.
