 DAVIS, J. THOMAS | | Instruments currently built in Columbus, OH. | | J. Thomas Davis began building guitars in a basement workshop while working on a music degree in 1975. The shop was moved to a storefront in Grandview Heights, OH in 1977 and relocated to the present location in Columbus, OH in 1993. The shop now employs four people dedicated to the service of fretted instruments (both electric and acoustic) while Tom spends his time building individual hand-made instruments. Tom individually designs and builds acoustic guitars one instrument at a time. He performs all of the work on his handmade guitars himself. Each instrument is built for a specific customer; each designed with a specific set of goals in mind. J. Thomas Davis also does guitar repair and warranty work for several makes.
