D.C. HILDER BUILDER Instruments currently built in Guelph (Ontario), Canada. David Hilder has been building instruments for over twenty years. The acoustic stand-up basses are what he mainly produces. These models include the Doghouse and Cathouse and they are oversix feet tall. Current retail is $750 for the Cathouse and $1,200 for the Doghouse. Hilder's Garcia's Guitar model features seven laminated layers of hard wood, which are then hand carved for the top and back contouring.
