 D'AQUISTO | | ACOUSTIC | | James D'Aquisto built 325+ instruments, from archtops to flattops to solid body electrics. D'Aquisto prices have gone up considerably in the past several years, and as a result, instruments have to be evaluated individually to ascertain the current market desirability and price. Generally, prices start in the $20,000 range, with the model, configuration (very important), and special order embellishments adding considerably to the base price. Deluxe New Yorkers are currently in the $40,000-$65,000 range. Remember, many of D'Aquisto's finer archtops sold for $15,000+ when new! Like D'Angelico, most of D'Aquisto's instruments were made to order and varied in dimensions and details. When buying/selling/appraising a D'Aquisto, it is the recommendation of the Blue Book of Acoustic Guitars that two or three professional appraisals be obtained. | |
