CARLSON, FRED
Guitars currently produced in Santa Cruz, CA since the early 1970s.
Luthier Fred Carlson builds a variety of instruments that feature wild shapes, odd configurations, and other unique aspects. Carlson is well-known for combining the features of certain instruments into one unique piece; however he does offer more traditional guitars with his own unique touch. Carlson's Dreadnautilus (a portable six-string guitar that has a full sound and a round shape) and the New Dream (a 39-string harp contraption that includes a regular six-string guitar, 12 sitar-style strings, six bass harp strings, and 15 high harp strings) are two of his most unusual/unique designs. Carlson is also the co-founder of Beyond The Trees. For more information, visit Carlson's website or contact him directly (see Trademark Index).
