 CARSON ROBISON | | Instruments previously produced during the 1930s. See chapter on House Brands. | | Carson J. Robison was a popular country singer and songwriter in the 1930s who endorsed a Recording King flattop model. Recording King was the House Brand for Montgomery Ward, and Gibson built the high end models for the line (cheaper models were built by someone else). Early models had only a white paint stencil of "Carson J. Robison" on the peghead (hence this listing) but later models had the Recording King logo as well.
