COLLINGS GUITARS | GENERAL INFORMATION/OPTIONS | Collings guitars are offered with a number of options, such as abalone top border inlays, custom inlays, tuning machines, wood binding, and body wood, including Brazilian rosewood (please call for prices and availability). Each custom feature that is on a Collins needs to be assessed separately. Refer to the chart of pricing addtions for options. In 1989, Collings built about 20 guitars that were designed by George Gruhn. They were available as a dreadnought (D) or jumbo (F) body shape with either plain (Style 1) or fancy (Style 2) appointments. A Gruhn logo is on the headstock with a Collings label inside the guitar and are numbered 001-021. These guitars are worth approx. between $2,500 and $3,000. | |
