 BOUCHER GUITARS | | Instruments currently produced in Berthier-sur-Mer, Quebec, Canada. Distributed in the U.S. by Boucher Guitars. They have been producing guitars as Boucher Guitars since 2003. | | Norman Boucher founded Canada's first acoustic guitar manufacturing company in 1968. Norman's sons, Claude and Richard, worked with him building a Martin D-style body with X bracing. In 1988, Boucher closed the store and sold the company and trademarks. Norman passed away in 1997. In 2000, Claude decided to build high-quality acoustic guitars made out of the finest woods, and they began stocking material. In 2003, Boucher introduced the Adirondack Series of guitars. These instruments featured "resonance aging," which is a process where the top is exposed to music 24 hours a day for three years to mature the acoustic chamber. In 2004, Claude's son Nicolas began working at Boucher guitars, and in 2005, Claude's nephew Robin joined him and Nicolas to start the Boucher Adirondack Collection Company.
