ACOUSTIC: DREADNOUGHT SERIES (DY PREFIX)

Alvarez Yairi has produced several dreadnoughts over the years. Early models were just known as DY Models, but today they are broken up into series including the Traditional, Fusion, Innovative (disc.), and Signature models.

DY 52 SILVER LARK

- dreadnought style, solid Canadian spruce top, round soundhole, white maple bound body, herringbone rosette, walnut pickguard, walnut back/sides, mahogany neck, 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard with snowflake inlay, ebony bridge, MOP headstock inlay, walnut veneer on peghead, three-per-side chrome tuners, available in Natural finish, mfg. circa mid-1970s.

- dreadnought style, rounded cutaway body, curly maple top, round soundhole, five-stripe bound body and rosette, maple back/sides, mahogany neck, 21-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, 12th fret has pearl snowflake inlay, ebony bridge with white abalone dot pins, three-per-side chrome tuners, bridge pickup, three-band EQ, available in Trans. Black finish, mfg. 1991-95.

DY 87/12

- similar to DY 87, except has 12 strings, six-per-side tuners, available in Violin Sunburst finish, mfg. 1991-95.

DY 90

DY 92 LUTE BACK

- dreadnought style, spruce top, round soundhole, herringbone bound body and rosette, 33-piece mahogany/rosewood/maple lute style rounded back, 14/20-fret bound ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, ebony bridge with black pearl dot pins, three-per-side gold tuners, available in Natural finish, mfg. circa 1975-1993.

DY 96 ABALONE SUPREME
